  Domains under evaluation : 

The removal of internal border controls leading to the accession to the Schengen area is preceded by an evaluation process involving: filling in an extended questionnaire, answering additional questions from the Member States, and undertaking field evaluation visits.

The schedule concerning the initiation and the carrying out of the evaluation process will be decided jointly by the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU, the Member States and Romania, within the Schengen Evaluation Working group.

The evaluation visits will focus on the following areas:

    Between 4-5 June 2009, during JHA Council, Romania together with Bulgaria presented, in Brussels, the Statement by the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania on the integration to the SIS 1+ via SIS one4all. The connection to SISone4ALL implies the development of a second project in parallel with the preparation for SIS II which represents supplementary efforts for the involved authorities in order to respect the objective proposed by the Romanian authorities for accession to the Schengen area.
